KRVC is pleased to announce two grant awards for 2015-16:
1. Our organization received a $30,000 award for 2015-16 to continue our merchant organizing in Marble Hill from NYC Small Business Services/SBS. Since 2011, KRVC has been awarded five grant contracts from SBS and we were awarded one other grant that was administered by SBS. Together these awards total more than $100,000. The grant awards include two merchant organizing grants in Woodlawn, two merchant organizing grants in Marble Hill and a grant for this website. In addition, our 2014-15 grant award by Councilmember Andrew Cohen to produce a Meet the Riverdale Merchants Movie was administered by SBS. Check out the news release for this year's grant awards and our award letter is posted below.
2. KRVC also received another New York State contract for substantial funding to support all our work for 2015-16. We are still in the process of executing our 2014-15 contract and the 2015-16 will essentially be a renewal of that. The bulk of these funds will be used to support and expand our top priority Greenway initiative. This program includes the production of Riverdale RiverFest, Greenway Day, our Greenway Gala and much more - all with the goal of building an all-river Greenway for our community. KRVC is grateful to State Senator Jeff Klein for securing these much needed state funds to support our work. Look for more on this grant after we execute the 2014-15 contract, which will put KRVC in a much stronger and more solid position to serve our community. Until that time (and even after), we rely on donations to maintain the programming we offer. Please donate however much you can to support our great work!
