Upwards of 200 community members of all ages turned out today for the first ever Greenway Day! The event was held on a beautiful spring day in Riverdale Station Park. Many attendees had never been to this tiny park. It was clear to everyone that our community is wants greenway and that we want it NOW!!! All our local elected officials turned out and they brought a letter supporting the Greenway.
The day was also a fun community day with a special performance by the PS 24 glee club and great live music by local guitarist Steve Oates. The day also featured food, face painting, children's activities and a circus performer.
KRVC's film crew hired for our Meet the Merchants Movie also covered that event.
News 12 attended and interviewed lead organizer and KRVC's Greenway Coordinator Cliff Stanton.
