The Jobs and Volunteer Networking Event at the Riverdale Y on Tuesday October 23, 2018 was a successful and rewarding event, with a great crowd attending and many businesses and organizations offering a wide variety of jobs and volunteer positions. Participants at the Event included H&R Block, T.J. Maxx, Sunrun Solar, the New York Public Library, Riverdale Senior Services, Premier Residences of Yonkers, The Hebrew Home at Riverdale, Kingsbridge Heights Community Center, Designer's Corner, Right at Home and The Riverdale Y. Jobs on offer included managers, sales associates, custodians, LPNs, HR coordinators, RNs, home health aides, receptionists, tax professionals, social workers, food servers and porters. Volunteer positions included lunch servers, center greeters, administrative assistants, social media eperts, event planners and tutors.
Job seekers and people looking to volunteer were delighted to be able to talk in person with representatives from the companies and organizations present, learn about various positions available, highlight their skills and interests, hand in their resumes and complete application forms. Additionally, job seekers were fortunate to have the opportunity to seek advice from a Resume Writing expert, Dr. Schneider, to improve their resumes. Event attendees were also offered the chance to have their headshot photos taken for free by professional Photographer, Harry Mandel, for posting on their LinkedIn profiles and resumes.
