On October 17th, KRVC was informed that we received a $22,725 grant fron the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs to support our Brush the Bronx Cultural Program.
On September 21st, KRVC was informed that the Empire State Development Corporation approved and executed the $250,000 grant contract allocated and awarded to KRVC in the April 2018 New York State Budget by State Senator Jeff Klein. This is a great relief to us since this contract and all our public contracts are reimbursement contracts. Especially since, on April 1, 2018, we began providing services and producing events under this large, reimbursement contract, including the very expensive RiverFest18.
On September 18th, we were informed that we have been awarded $28,000 in New York City Discretionary Funding by our Councilmember Andrew Cohen.
We knew, previously, that KRVC was awarded $5,000 by Councilmember Ritchie Torres to produce a small concert in his District, which will be scheduled sometime before June 30, 2019, through our Brush the Bronx Cultural Program.
We also knew previously that KRVC was awarded $30,000 by the New York City Small Business Services to support our work in Marble Hill. That contract award is the third of a three year contract.
We have also applied for other public and private grants and large sponsorships, but we do not know of any additional approved and awarded funding at this time.
We have always been and will continue to be an open, honest, transparent and accessible community not-for-profit. That is why we opened a storefront office in April 2016. That is also why our financials are posted on our website dating back to when I took over as the Executive Director of KRVC in 2010. The tax and charities filings are posted through June 30, 2017 and our draft financials are posted for the fiscal year 2017-2018. You can check them out at this link:
