Club KRVC with Poet Sarah Stern

iMarch 29, 2018

On March 29th award-winning poet Sarah Stern read from her book "But Today is Different." Her writing is full of charm, wit, sensitivity and visceral directness. She also shared with us some of her newer, not yet published, poems. After the reading, Sarah gave the audience a writing prompt to quickly write for five minutes about a place in their childhood home that they loved. Everyone read aloud their work for the group. The pieces were amazing. It was a rewarding evening, full of the true spirit of community.

Sarah Stern is the author of But Today Is Different (Wipf and Stock) and Another Word for Love (Finishing Line Press). Her poems have recently appeared in The American Dream, The Man Who Ate His Book: The Best of Ducts.org, Epiphany, Freefall, New Verse News, Swwim Every Day, Rise Up Review, Verse Daily, The Woven Tale Press, and What Rough Beast, among other journals. She is a five-time winner of the Bronx Council on the Arts’ BRIO Poetry Award. You can see more of her work at sarahstern.me.
