Short biography:
Gertrude Chamlee chose to make the Bronx her home years ago when she raised her children in the Morrisania area and then moved to Kingsbridge where she has been living since 1976. She worked for the State of New York for over 40 years. During that time she received a BA in Sociology from Lehman College in 1981 and a Masters of Professional Studies in Disability Determination from New York University in 1988. Gertrude was a member of Community Board 8 for eight years and served her last three years there as Chair of the Health Committee. She is also currently a member of the Community Advisory Board and the Auxillary of North Central Bronx Unit.
