My name is Theresa La Marca. I have lived in the Amalgamated Housing Cooperative for about thirty years. I worked at St. Barnabas Nursing Home as a recreational therapist where I used my artistic skills in creating vibrant programs for the residents and beautiful decorations for the holidays. I also worked as a nanny using my creative skills in entertaining and stimulating children's imagination, as well as being responsible for their care. For the first fifteen years of living at the Amalgamated Co-Op, I worked at our local theatre. I was an actress, a wardrobe coordinator, a seamstress and a set designer. For the last fifteen years, I have been involved as a visual artist. I studied at the School of Visual Arts fro two years and have been instructed by other teachers as well. For the last eight years, I have shown my work at Vladeck Hall as well as in Riverdale. My art work is done primarily in acrylic, but I also do watercolor, pastel and pencil. I am married to a fellow actor and writer. I am a native New Yorker and I enjoy our multi-cultural city, which is a mecca for all creative endeavors.
