I didn’t become an artist until after my brain cancer surgery almost exactly 5 years ago. That seemed to uncover a passion I didn’t know existed. Three years ago I started using pastels and paint as I would bring my mom down to art room at Hebrew Home in Riverdale to see if she could get back into her abstract artwork, which she began long before I was born. I quickly got rather obsessed with it, and then my sculptor dad, Jay Moss (who is in this show too!) encouraged me to go to the Art Students League, where he went on the GI Bill after he returned from WWII. I’ve been taking class there since early 2016. My Instagram address is: @jordanmossbx. It’s mostly my photography but you can quickly see my artwork collected in the same place by searching for #jordanmossart on Instagram. I was the editor of the Norwood News from 1995 to 2011 and live with my wife and daughter, Margaret and Devin, in Kingsbridge Heights.
