KRVC’s sponsors include dozens of local businesses and organizations. When those businesses and organizations hold special events including ribbon cuttings, grand openings, anniversary celebrations, open houses, expansions parties, etc., KRVC participates through our “Biz Boosters” program.Through Biz Boosters, KRVC promotes the special event throughout the community and reaches out to the local media outlets. In addition, KRVC arranges for community leaders such as elected officials, organization heads and community board members to attend to cut ribbons, cakes or participate in special activities. Finally, KRVC sponsors a live performer for these events such as a clown, face painter, magician, character or musician. In June 2013, KRVC helped Kidville open in style! Kidville was packed with children and families for a grand opening celebration. KRVC brought in a clown and arranged for State Senator Jeff Klein and Community Board 8 Economic Development Committee Chair Sergio Villaverde to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony where Senator Klein cut the ribbon.Later that month, KRVC worked with Kidaroo to promote and celebrate their One Year Anniversary. Street Performer, Adam Auslander handed out balloons along the block on stilts to promote the event compliments of KRVC. State Senator Klein attended, at KRVC’s invitation, and was on hand to cut the beautiful One Year Anniversary cake. Through KRVC’s efforts, this celebration was attended and covered by News 12 the Bronx. In August, KRVC held another Biz Booster at Bedrock Preschool during their Open House Carnival. Thanks to KRVC, this event featured "Story time with our State Legislators" and a street performer clown, Dawn Jones. An event highlight was when State Senator Jeff Klein and Assemblyman Jeff Dinowitz read The Very Hungry Caterpillar to the children together!
